Pastor’s Letter, January 8th, 2017: Welcoming the New Year

Dear Parishioners,

My first Christmas at Holy Rosary was a blessing. I was overwhelmed with the many Christmas cards, kind wishes and prayers. I thought the Christmas masses went well and the 5pm Christmas Eve mass at two locations seemed to take the pressure off the church and provide a more relaxed and less crowded experience. It is my hope to continue it next year. Thanks to Fr. Madigan for taking the second mass.

After my first six months at Holy Rosary I have found the need for a head administrative type person that has become typical for most parishes in the Archdiocese. The position is called a Pastoral Assistant for Administration. This is a high level position that will work closely with me in the administration of the parish, especially in area of school and parish finances. I have established an interview committee to work with me on hiring this person. Please keep this in prayer for us to find the right person.

As mentioned earlier I have established a Finance Council to help me understand our parish finances and advise me moving forward. I would like to announce to you who the members of the Finance Council are: Guillermo Cano, Tom Hughes, Karen Launceford, Francois Madath, Deacon Terry Marcell, Tom Preston, and Joe Zavaglia. This committee has been invaluable to me and I want to thank them for their willingness to serve the parish in this capacity.

I have also established a Parish Pastoral Council. This Council will be a faith community who will journey with me as Pastor to provide recommendations for parish priorities, direction and policy. As a Pastoral Council we have all committed to pray the Rosary each day for the good of the parish. The members of Pastoral Council are: Angel Alvarado, Mark Boyce, Tom Brennan, Garrett Conaty, Ron Haider, Shannon Hendricks, Teresa Holt, Shannon Laird, Stacy LeBrun, Girold Martelino, Cindy Olson and Tom Schutte. I also want to thank them for their willingness to serve the parish in this way.

Towards the end of January I plan to have a commissioning of both Councils at a 9AM Mass. I look forward to working and praying with these fine individuals from our parish working on behalf of Holy Rosary and the good of our Parish community.

In Christ,

Fr. Vincent
