Our parish is blessed to use the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for faith formation.
The children meet in the Atrium, a room specially set up as a place of prayer -- designed to meet the spiritual and developmental needs of chidren using the Montessori method. Sessions are 2 hours long and offered weekly throughout the liturgical year.
In the Atrium, the chid works and prays with lovely handmade materials to dive deeper into the Holy Bible and the Liturgy. The children are invited into a life-long relationship with the Good Shepherd who gives "life to the full."
Limited In-person sessions are being scheduled this Fall. Sessions will be for one family (or your Pandemic Pod). The weekly sessions will be scheduled Sunday-Thursday between 9AM and 5PM. A waitlist will be started for families who register but are not able to be scheduled due to Covid Guidelines.
Formation in the Atrium does not replace attendance at Mass or a lived faith at home.
“It is in the bosom of the family that parents are ‘by word and example… the first heralds
of the faith with regard to their children.” – CCC 1656
Prayerfully consider how you can set time aside for your child to attend Atrium sessions and attend regular Sunday Mass, as the children need to experience the Liturgy in order to make the connection between what they hear in the Atrium and the Mass where we encounter Christ living and present in the Blessed Sacrament and offered to the Father as on Calvary for our salvation.
If your family is not registered for in-person faith formation due to Covid; we have a homeschooling option available called 'My Catholic Faith Delivered' which meets the requirements for Sacramental Preparation. Please contact Julie Morris to register.
To help families during the pandemic this year; there will be no registration fees for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or My Catholic Faith Delivered.
